The An-12 plane, flying from Sabetta to Novy Urengoy in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, overturned on its side while landing. There were no casualties as a result of the incident, the EDDS of Novy Urengoy reported.
The department noted that when landing, the left landing gear strut did not lock, which caused the aircraft to overturn on its left side. There were no deaths or injuries.
In total, there were eight crew members on board the plane, no passengers or dangerous cargo.
The Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office clarified that the plane belongs to the "Atran" airline, and it was performing a commercial cargo flight. The Prosecutor's Office and the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee organized inspections into the incident.
Earlier, Rostec refuted rumors on the Web about the suspension of operation of Ansat helicopters, stating that there are no objective reasons for this.
