The diesel-electric submarine "Ufa" of project 636.3, code "Varshavyanka" of the Pacific Fleet, struck sea and coastal targets with "Caliber" cruise missiles during exercises in the Sea of Japan. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The crew successfully hit a surface target, a naval target shield, with the first missile. The second missile hit a coastal target at the Syurkum tactical field, located in the Khabarovsk Territory, at the calculated time. The firing range was over 1,000 km.
The submarine "Ufa" became part of the Russian Navy on November 16, 2022. The submarine arrived at the Pacific Fleet's main base in Vladivostok via the Southern Sea Route in December 2024. This is the fourth submarine in a series of six project 636.3 submarines being built for the Pacific Fleet.
Submarines of this project are distinguished by an optimal combination of acoustic stealth and target detection range, powerful torpedo and missile armament. The main strike complex of the "Ufa" is high-precision "Caliber" missiles.
Earlier, Rostec refuted rumors on the Web about the suspension of operation of Ansat helicopters, stating that there are no objective prerequisites for this.
