Tire production has officially launched at the Gislaved plant (formerly Bridgestone in Ulyanovsk).
In 2023, the Japanese company Bridgestone's plant came under the control of a Russian shareholder and was included in the Cordiant holding, which, from October 1, 2024, is part of the Severgroup perimeter under the management of Alexei Mordashov.
The company plans to produce 1.2 million tires this year. In the future, they want to increase production volumes to 2.4 million annually.
Since December 2024, the plant has been producing Cordiant Run Tour summer tires. Since February of the same year, the production of Gislaved Spike Control winter studded tires has been established, and already in March, the production of another studded winter version — Cordiant Snow Max 7000 — began.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the former Bridgestone plant in Ulyanovsk faced a crisis.
