AvtoVAZ has launched mass production of Lada Vesta cars with a new six-speed manual gearbox. The editor-in-chief of the "Za Rulem" magazine, Maxim Kadakov, spoke about his first impressions of the car.
A very pleasant gearbox: the lever is beautiful, and the gears shift easily. The effort is clearly lower and the shift selectivity is better compared to the native five-speed.
According to him, since the gear ratio of the first gear is higher than that of the five-speed, it is easier to start moving — you can practically not touch the gas pedal. The noise of the transmission has also decreased.
He recalled that to engage reverse gear, the years-proven scheme is used — pull up the locking plastic ring under the gearshift knob.
Reverse gear engages easily, so even turning around in a confined space is no trouble — everything engages very clearly.
The "six-speed" in the new Vesta is designed for an input torque of 220 Nm, the estimated transmission life is about 500 thousand kilometers. For comparison, the native five-speed manual transmissions of Lada have up to 170 Nm and up to 400 thousand km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ announced a discount of 300 thousand rubles on the new Lada Aura under one condition.
