Self-service baggage check-in kiosks appear at Sheremetyevo

The new service is available on domestic flights of Aeroflot and Rossiya airlines

Aeroflot, in cooperation with Sheremetyevo International Airport, has launched self-service check-in kiosks for passengers with baggage, the airline's press service reported.

For now, the new service is available on domestic Aeroflot flights and Rossiya Airlines flights under the SU code.

The new service opens up the possibility for passengers to check in their baggage on their own without visiting the Drop-off area or classic check-in counters. Self-service baggage check-in kiosks are located in the departure area of Terminal B (check-in counters No. 314-316) of Sheremetyevo International Airport.

To check in, passengers need to enter data from their e-ticket on the terminal monitor, select a seat, and place their baggage on the scales.

After checking the parameters of the suitcase, you can print out a boarding pass and a baggage tag, which must be attached to the baggage. Next, the suitcase will automatically be sent via conveyor belt to the airport's baggage sorting system, and the passenger can proceed to the airport's 'sterile' area for boarding.

The kiosks are equipped with a system for controlling the size and weight of baggage. In case of exceeding the norms, a surcharge is provided.

The airline also noted that it plans to extend the service to international flights in the future, which will improve the quality of service and make the check-in process more convenient for passengers.
