The company Wildberries has begun testing six-axis articulated robots, known as "robotic arms," for sorting and packaging goods in its warehouses. The introduction of these technologies is a step towards full automation of processes, said Tatyana Kim, head of Wildberries. In her opinion, the use of such devices will become an integral part of logistics in the future.
Robotic arms are designed to speed up the processing of goods and increase the overall efficiency of warehouses. Automation in the company does not exclude manual labor, but will change the approach to logistics processes, making them faster and more organized, according to Wildberries. Robotic arms are developed using the company's own software with the help of AI.
The Wildberries automation team is also working on creating an autonomous mobile robot that can move cargo at logistics facilities.
