Engineers of SKB-1 (part of the military-industrial holding company "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant", KMZ) have developed the NS-3-700-150 skimmer for collecting oil products with a flash point of more than 60 °C from the water surface. The equipment is designed for emergency spill response, the holding's press service reported.
The skimmer is equipped with a pumping hydraulic pump, modular brush units, and floats.
Rotating working bodies capture the oil product and, with the help of a scraper comb, separate it from most of the water. Through the outlet chutes, the oil-water mixture flows into a drainage tank with a hydraulic pump, which pumps the mixture through a pressure hose into a shore tank or onto a vessel.
The pump is driven by a hydraulic power unit.
