Production expansion is planned at the ChechenAvto plant in Argun, Chechnya. The company will modernize its facilities and create a regional automotive cluster, which will lead to increased production volumes and the creation of new jobs.
Currently, the plant produces 34 LADA Granta sedans and 2 GAZelle Next light-duty trucks daily. In the next two years, it is planned to build new workshops for screwdriver assembly of cars, which will significantly increase production.
Previously, ChechenAvto specialized in the assembly of LADA Priora, which was popular in the region. In 2011, production volume reached 6,000 cars per year, but after the Priora was discontinued, the plant switched entirely to assembling LADA Granta.
In addition, production of the new LADA Iskra model will start in April.
