The Soviet RPG-7 reusable hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher, developed by GSKB-47 (now NPO Bazalt), is simple and reliable to operate. This was reported in the press service of Rosoboronexport.
The RPG-7 is designed to destroy tanks, self-propelled howitzers, and other armored vehicles. It destroys enemy manpower in shelters, and helps fight against low-flying, low-speed aerial targets. The grenade launcher can be used even in difficult climatic conditions.
The RPG-7 has been produced since 1961 at the "V.A. Degtyarev Plant" in the Vladimir region. Initially, only the PG-7V rocket-assisted round with an 85 mm caliber HEAT grenade was made for it. Then other ammunition appeared: high-explosive fragmentation, thermobaric, and incendiary.
RPG-7 Characteristics:
- Caliber — 40 mm
- Length — 950 mm
- Weight — 6.3 kg (with optical sight)
- Effective range — 700 m
- Firing mode — single
- Rate of fire — 4-6 rounds per minute
The RPG-7 is in service with the Rosgvardia.
