Elon Musk's proposal to deorbit the International Space Station (ISS) is premature, according to Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev.
According to the Russian cosmonaut, plans to launch a Russian orbital station are still being formed, and before flooding the ISS, something new needs to be launched. However, there is nothing to replace the station yet.
Cosmonautics is a risky business, if suddenly we cannot launch a new station, then this could be fatal not only for Russian cosmonautics, but also for the world.
Earlier, Elon Musk suggested flooding the ISS and focusing on the exploration of Mars.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the ISS is wanted to turn into a spacecraft for a flight to Mars.
