Столичный метрополитен закупит серверы для внедрения Face Pay на всех турникетах

Biometric payment is available on more than 1,100 turnstiles

The Moscow Metro is looking for a supplier of Russian-made servers to scale up the project for fare payment using biometric data (Face Pay). The contract amount is 1.16 billion rubles.

According to the procurement documentation, all turnstiles in the capital's subway will be equipped with the new equipment.

According to a representative of the metro, 650 servers need to be installed. Thanks to the expansion of hardware, the turnstiles will quickly process the request and open within 1.5 seconds.

Currently, biometric payment is available on more than 1,100 turnstiles in the metro, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD), Aeroexpress, and river transport. By the end of 2025, all 4,000 metro turnstiles will be connected to the Face Pay system.
