Fraudsters have begun to use rumors about the return of Western brands to deceive Russians. They call on behalf of companies that have left the country and offer various gifts in order to obtain the victim's personal data.
Fraudsters say phrases like: "Hello, this is a representative of Zara, and we want to please you." Then the person on the other end of the line claims to work for a foreign brand that is about to return to the Russian market. In honor of this event, he offers the victim a "compliment" - a gift that is supposedly to be brought by a courier. In order for the delivery to take place, you only need to name the code from the SMS.
Thus, attackers gain access to the account on "Gosuslugi" in order to subsequently manipulate their victims. For example, they convince the user that his money is going to finance organizations banned in Russia, and offer to create a so-called "safe account".
Earlier, Roskachestvo warned about a new type of fraud associated with Visa and Mastercard cards. Fraudsters send SMS messages on behalf of Sberbank, in which they promise to restore all the functions of the cards, including the possibility of cross-border payments.
