Every fifth man in Russia dreams of receiving a Lada Niva as a second car "for the soul" on February 23. On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the Fresh marketplace asked its customers the question: "Imagine that you are offered to give another car in addition to the one you already have. Which model would you choose?" The survey involved 4,725 men aged 19 to 64 from ten cities in Russia.
The domestic SUV VAZ-2121, also known as the "classic Niva" or Niva Legend, took first place in terms of the number of responses. It was chosen by 22% of men. According to the respondents, this is the "best domestic development", which is far ahead of global trends in many ways. Niva Legend is distinguished by high cross-country ability with low maintenance costs.
Toyota Land Cruiser of various generations came in second place. 14% of respondents voted for this model. Their arguments were as follows: you can go to the taiga and the theater in such a car; everything is done honestly in it, including the frame; Japanese quality is always appreciated.
In third place is the UAZ Patriot SUV. It was chosen as a second car by 10% of respondents. This is how they explained their choice: this is a serious SUV that can be used for its intended purpose.
The remaining 54% were distributed among many models, among which two main categories can be distinguished: sports and historical cars.
Sports cars include both cars with a characteristic body type, such as a coupe or targa, and simply "charged" sedans, hatchbacks and station wagons.
Among domestic models, VAZ-2101, Moskvich-412 and Volga GAZ-24 were most often mentioned. Many explained their love for these cars by the fact that they were owned by their parents, grandparents or even themselves.
Earlier in Germany, sales of the new Lada Niva Legend 2025 SUV started. The new cars turned out to be twice as expensive as in Russia.
