AvtoVAZ explains why Lada Vesta won't get a turbo engine

The car will be 50% more expensive than the regular model

Lada fans have repeatedly wondered why AvtoVAZ is not developing turbo engines for its cars. AvtoVAZ has finally answered this question.

One of the reasons for the lack of a turbo engine was the complexity of its design. The fact is that you can't just install a turbine in tandem with a naturally aspirated engine. The power unit needs to be significantly redesigned.

After installing a new engine, you need to make changes to the transmission, brakes, and cooling system. This will affect the cost of the vehicle. A car with a turbine will be approximately 50% more expensive than a similar model with a naturally aspirated engine.

For example, if a Lada Vesta with a 1.8 EVO engine costs 2 million rubles, then the same model with a turbo engine would already cost 3 million rubles.
