Аналог Falcon 9 появился в России: прошли испытания двигателя многоразовой ракеты на метане

Результаты тестов используют для создания силового агрегата на криогенных компонентах

The Russian private aerospace holding SR Space has successfully conducted firing stand tests of the combustion chamber with a nozzle head of the RD-1 oxygen-methane rocket engine. The power unit is designed to launch small spacecraft into orbit.

The first RD-1 tests took place back in October 2023. Specialists from the SR Rockets subsidiary developed the nozzle head and refined the design of the combustion chamber.

The holding noted that the RD-1 is being created as part of a reusable rocket project. Oleg Mansurov, head of SR Space, noted that the tests of the liquid engine brought SR Space closer to creating a reusable rocket.

This work is also relevant in connection with the new national space project and the federal project "Methane" included in it.

The results obtained will be used to further create a larger engine and move to testing with cryogenic components.
