Back to Hollywood: Foreign films to resume screening in Russia

Okko and Kinopoisk are already in talks with foreign film studios

Major Russian online cinemas have resumed negotiations with Hollywood film studios about returning their libraries and access to premiere projects. This was announced by Artyom Sargsyan, PR director of the Okko online cinema.

We have resumed communication with some majors who previously did not make contact, which indicates a change in their categorical position. But it is too early to talk about the return of catalogs, premieres, and especially the timing of this return, as everything depends on the political situation.

Kinopoisk is also establishing contacts with Hollywood. Content director Nikolai Buts stated that the company "is negotiating with market colleagues around a large package of Lionsgate novelties," which is expected to include the summer theatrical release of "Ballerina."

However, according to one source, the main obstacle to resuming cooperation with Hollywood remains problems with payments.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Okko online cinema launched a section with fragments of films and TV series.
