A video of the launch of at least four Kalibr cruise missiles from the sea has gone viral online. The ship from which the launch was carried out is far out at sea.
In the dark, it is impossible to tell whether it is a submarine or a surface ship; only the flame of solid-propellant rocket engines is visible. A chain of lights rises into the sky and arcs to the right beyond the horizon.
The target of the Kalibr missiles is strategically important rear logistics facilities of the enemy, the low-altitude flight paths to which bypass the viewing sectors of the AN/MPQ-64F1 and TRML-4D radar stations of the NASAMS and IRIS-T SLM complexes by hiding behind the "screen" of the terrain.
The range of these cruise missiles is up to 2500 km, and the flight speed is up to 850-950 km/h. The effective reflecting surface of the Kalibr is 0.1 m².
