AvtoVAZ has started assembling the Lada Niva Travel with the new VAZ-11193 gasoline engine with 90 hp. Structurally, the engine replicates the VAZ-11182 engine, known from Granta.
Its main difference is the increased piston stroke, which increased the engine volume to 1774 cm^3. At the same time, the power and torque remained practically unchanged.
The new power unit produces 90 hp and 150 N*m. In general, for Niva, this is an excellent indicator; the standard Niva units and assemblies simply cannot withstand a higher torque without a significant reduction in service life.
The new ICE will receive calibrations that will help it to be used most effectively on the Niva. At the same time, you should not expect hydraulic compensators or a chain-driven timing in the updated engine.
