As good as foreign counterparts: Prometheus laser scalpel first delivered to Russian clinics

The new product has been launched into small-scale production

The Siberian Scientific Research and Testing Center for Medical Equipment has delivered the Prometheus laser scalpel to clinics. The device has already received positive feedback. This was announced by the Minister of Science and Innovation Policy of the region, Vadim Vasiliev.

Instead of a scalpel, a laser is used, which is much easier for a person to tolerate, with less blood loss. From a medical point of view, this product is far ahead of what is currently used in clinics.

The main goal of the development is import substitution. The new laser scalpel surpasses a number of imported analogues on the market in terms of its characteristics.

The novelty has passed all technical, toxicological and preclinical tests. Currently, small-scale production of the device has been organized. The introduction of a laser scalpel into the work of medical institutions may take about two years.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec is modernizing a device for performing operations without a scalpel.
