The Moscow Arbitration Court granted the motion of the bankruptcy trustee of Google LLC, Valery Talyarovsky, and forbade Google from continuing proceedings against its Russian branch in a California court.

In his motion, Talyarovsky indicated that the decisions of the American court are not subject to compulsory enforcement in Russia. The interim measures do not prevent the Russian court from considering this dispute.
Last week, Google turned to a California court with a request to prohibit representatives of Google LLC from participating in the bankruptcy case of the Russian branch. The American court adopted restrictive measures that prohibit the Moscow Arbitration Court from continuing to hear cases within its jurisdiction.
On December 22, 2021, the Russian branch of Google paid dividends of $128.7 million to its parent company. In 2022, the Russian branch was declared bankrupt. In April 2024, Google LLC filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court demanding that the payments be declared illegal. The court ruled in favor of the Russian branch and rejected Google's appeal.
