«Алиса» расскажет незрячим и слабовидящим, что происходит на экране «Кинопоиска»

The voice assistant was entrusted with providing audio descriptions for original films and series

"Kinopoisk" has introduced a new feature: now audio descriptions for films and series are voiced by "Alice" — a virtual assistant from "Yandex." The service adapts content for visually impaired viewers faster, making viewing more comfortable and accessible.

Audio descriptions are short descriptions of events in films and series. They sound in between the actors' lines and tell what is happening on the screen. These comments help blind and visually impaired people understand what is happening in the film and not miss important moments.

Kinopoisk projects also have subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. They convey not only words, but also the emotions of the characters, music, noises and sound effects.

Earlier, the "Yandex" team launched a "Kinopoisk" update, which includes personalized statistics for users. On the website and in the application, you can find cards with the results of the year, which show statistics of watched films and series, the number of ratings given and tickets purchased for movies, as well as favorite genres.
