The first module of the prospective Russian Orbital Station (ROS) — the scientific and energy module (NEM) — is planned to be launched into a near-polar orbit in December 2027. This was announced by General Designer for Manned Systems Vladimir Solovyov during his speech at the Korolev Readings.
The project will become the basis for long-term research in space conditions. Its budget is estimated at 608.9 billion rubles.
According to the schedule, the station's deployment will take place in two stages. By 2030, a universal docking, gateway, and base modules will be attached to the NEM, forming the core of the complex. From 2031 to 2033, the station will be supplemented with two target modules, expanding its functionality.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Orbital Station will become a platform for hybrid space systems.
