Large businesses in Russia actively use cloud technologies, but they are not as popular in the medium and small segments. Provider Nubes has calculated that 95% of large companies in Russia already use cloud solutions, while only 35% of medium and only 10% of small enterprises have taken a similar step.
Nubes calculated that the average cost of migrating to a cloud infrastructure is about 250–300 thousand rubles for small companies and over 600 thousand rubles for large ones. In 2024, the economic situation contributed to the transition of medium-sized businesses to cloud solutions, due to high rates and equipment prices. Small businesses do not see the need for clouds, as many of its representatives do not process large amounts of data.
The largest players in the Russian cloud technology market remain Cloud.ru, РТК-ЦОД and Yandex Cloud. Experts note that growing cybersecurity threats also push companies to cooperate with cloud providers to protect data. Market growth forecasts vary, and some experts believe that by 2030 it may exceed 650–700 billion rubles, subject to further democratization of access to cloud services.
