Belarus Establishes Production of Lenses and Car Headlights for Russian Cars

Headlights for the Russian and Belarusian automotive industries have begun production at the Rudensk plant

The Belarusian enterprise "Rudensk" began producing headlights and taillights for Russian cars, trucks, and buses in December 2024. The plant assembles lighting equipment for UAZ, Lada cars, PAZ buses, KamAZ trucks, and other vehicles.

Previously, it was difficult for the enterprise to compete with foreign component manufacturers. In 2022, foreign companies left the Russian market. After that, "Rudensk" became one of the first projects in the field of import substitution of automotive equipment in Russia and Belarus.

The enterprise independently produces printed circuit boards necessary for the operation of headlights. For this purpose, the plant updated equipment, created a production bureau, and retrained personnel.

The "Rudensk" plant has existed in Belarus for 96 years. In 1920, it produced bricks, later – building materials and haberdashery, and in the 80s – children's and Christmas toys, as well as shoe polish.
