From April 1, 2025, some foreign driver's licenses will become invalid in Russia. The restrictions will apply to drivers who obtained citizenship, residence permit, and temporary residence permit at least a year ago. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The law establishing the rule on invalidating foreign driver's licenses came into force in April 2024.
Driving with an invalid license carries a fine of up to 15 thousand rubles and a ban on driving vehicles until a valid driver's license is obtained.
