The management of "Sevmash" is engaged in equipment modernization. In 2025, new overhead and gantry cranes are being actively introduced. This will increase the production capacity of the enterprise.
Currently, the installation of a 10-ton gantry crane on embankment No. 1 is being completed. The installation of a new 50/10-ton gantry crane on embankment No. 3 is planned.
Three overhead cranes have already been installed in the hull and welding production: one for 5 tons and two for 15 tons. This year, the installation of three more 5-ton cranes is expected. All new machines are made in Russia.
This modernization is part of the state program "Development of the Defense Industrial Complex", implemented with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
As a reminder, the "Sevmash" plant (Northern Machine-Building Enterprise) is located in Severodvinsk. It was founded in 1939. It is one of the largest shipbuilding plants in the country, specializing in the construction of submarines and surface ships for the Navy. The plant is also engaged in the modernization and repair of ships and the production of equipment, including crane systems.
