Russian military personnel are being trained to counter unmanned aerial vehicles using skeet shooting techniques. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The exercises are conducted using 12-gauge shotguns and special cartridges loaded with shot. Flying clay targets are used as targets.
The targets are thrown into the air using special throwing machines, and if the shot hits the flying target, it breaks.
Military expert Andrei Mitrofanov noted that smooth-bore weapons will also be useful in repelling attacks bydrones with fiber optic control, against which electronic warfare equipment is powerless. According to him, domestic semi-automatic shotguns such as "Saiga-12" or "Vepr-Molot" are suitable.
