Footage of one of the homemade buggies that will enter service with the Russian military has appeared online. The video was shown by the Telegram channel @milinfolive.
Apparently, the base for the vehicle was the frame of a UAZ car, since the gear lever, transfer case control lever, and parking brake lever are visible in the cabin.
The footage shows that the body and cabin of the new vehicle are welded from metal sheets and rebar, with space for two people in the front.
In the back of the buggy is a turret for a "Kord" machine gun for combating unmanned aerial vehicles. Apparently, it rotates 360 degrees and allows for the effective destruction of aerial targets.
The vehicle in the video is undergoing the final stage of preparation and will soon be sent to the soldiers.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that specialists from the repair and recovery units of the Russian army are creating buggies for assault units. They used the GAZ-66 truck as a base.
