Telephone scammers have started using a new scam scheme, offering victims to use absurd passwords such as "Violin", "Malina", "Marfa" to contact couriers.
According to the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, criminals introduce themselves as law enforcement officers and convince people to urgently cash out all funds from their accounts for their "protection" and transfer them to a courier, allegedly for transfer to a safe account.
Strange passwords, such as "Baikonur", "Ryabina", "Tatyana", are used to give the process the appearance of a legitimate special operation. This is part of a manipulation aimed at creating trust in scammers.
Real law enforcement officers, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, and Rosfinmonitoring, are never interested in citizens' savings, do not ask them to participate in financial transactions, and do not demand the transfer of money for protection. Citizens are advised to be careful, immediately stop talking when such requests are made, and remember that the safest account is their own bank account.
