Russian owners of Chinese Kaiyi cars began receiving notifications about the recall of their vehicles at the end of 2024. These calls and messages are legitimate: according to Rosstandart, approximately 20,000 cars sold by Kaiyi dealerships in 2023–2024 are indeed subject to this recall.
It turned out that they were not equipped with an emergency call device (UVEOOS), which has been mandatory for new cars in Russia since 2017. Now, KAI Rus LLC will install "ERA-GLONASS" for its customers free of charge.
The following are subject to recall to dealerships:
- Kaiyi X7 – 1405 cars;
- Kaiyi X3 – 4799 cars;
- Kaiyi E5 – 13548 cars.
Owners of cars that are subject to recall will be informed by phone or email. You can check whether you need to take your Kaiyi to a dealership yourself. To do this, you need to compare the VIN code of your car with the attached list.
Earlier it became known that a Russian platform based on ERA-GLONASS has begun to be integrated into Chinese cars. The first to receive access to the UVEOOS service will be owners of SANY trucks.
