Groundbreaking Air Defense System Based on "Ovod-7" FPV Drone Developed in Russia

The system is designed to destroy heavy UAVs

Russian military personnel on the front lines have begun testing the operation of an air defense system based on the "Ovod-7" FPV drone. It will be able to shoot down heavy drones.

The head of the scientific and approbation center with the call sign "Birkin" clarified that the operator only monitors and gives permission. The flight itself takes place in automatic mode, the system determines the target, receives confirmation, aims, and hits the object.

During the tests, the soldiers launched an FPV anti-drone UAV with explosives into the air to destroy an enemy drone within a radius of 10-15 m upon detonation. The complex independently tracked down the copter target and shot it down by remotely detonating the anti-drone.

The air defense system based on the FPV drone is effective for combating large enemy drones operating at low altitudes and short distances.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian military combinedsix AK-12s into a single system against UAVs.
