The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, offered to involve Belarusian specialists in the production of "Moskvich" cars. Lukashenko admitted that he admires what the Russian capital has been doing lately.
I strongly support you in the fact that, having dismissed these Western sanctions, you began to produce your own cars, which we once knew well, but already at a higher level. I think Belarus will find a place in these projects, especially in terms of auto components and other things. Maybe even more.
The head of state emphasized that the Republic of Belarus is producing Belgee cars using Chinese technologies. At the same time, it is not just about simple assembly.
In a conversation with Sobyanin, Lukashenko emphasized that "Moskvich" is a common cause of the two countries, and recalled that Belarus also participated in the production of these cars.
Earlier, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov stated that in the automotive industry in Russia it is necessary to keep no more than two or three large factories that will be efficient and profitable. In his opinion, the Russian market should not be limited only to domestic technologies, as this may lead to a lack of competition.
