The 2S25 "Sprut-SDM1" self-propelled anti-tank gun (also known as a light amphibious tank) may be in demand by the National Guard to clear territories of enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups. This opinion was expressed by experts from the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (CAMTO).
As analysts noted, the conflicts of recent years have shown that each country needs to have its own internal troops. In Russia, these functions are performed by the National Guard. To protect the state border, the national guard fighters need light tanks.
Based on accumulated experience, the question arises about tank units within the National Guard. They will definitely need the "Sprut" with its firepower and high mobility.
The "Sprut" is equipped with a 125-mm 2A75-1 gun, and in terms of firepower corresponds to the main battle tank T-90MS. The combat vehicle engages targets at a range of more than 5 km with various types of ammunition (high-explosive fragmentation, cumulative projectiles, guided missiles) and develops a speed of up to 70 km/h.
