Russia plans to produce special vehicles based on older Toyota models. According to the Telegram channel "Autopotok", an agreement to build a new plant was signed at the Russian-Chinese Automobile Forum "Manage the Future" in Moscow.
Brilliance Auto, which will produce ambulance vans, is participating in the project from the Chinese side. It is assumed that the plant will appear in Ufa, and the JinBei brand will be used as the basis for the new cars.

The specific car model that will become the basis for Russian ambulances is not disclosed. However, the Brilliance Auto commercial vehicle lineup includes about ten suitable vans.
Since the 1990s, "recycled" versions of Toyota Hiace and Granvia have been produced and sold under the Jinbei brand. Thus, almost all of the brand's products are of Japanese origin.
The most modern representative of the Jinbei line, equipped with a fuel system, is a copy of the previous generation Toyota Hiace — H200, released in 2004. China produces a huge number of rear-wheel drive vans and minivans equipped with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
Most likely, Russian-Chinese ambulances produced in Ufa will compete with Gazelle NEXT and Sollers Atlant.
Perhaps the first stage will be the localization of the production of special vehicles, after which other commercial models of Brilliance Auto will begin to be assembled in Bashkortostan.
Earlier it became known that Russia plans to open new automobile production. Negotiations were held with a multi-brand company from China. According to Vitaly Mankevich, Chairman of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, a new plant could be built in Siberia — in the Novosibirsk or Irkutsk region.
According to a study by Rosgosstrakh and Avtodom, Russians are increasingly choosing Chinese cars. Buyers note the variety of models and believe that Chinese cars can become a worthy alternative to European cars that have left the market. In addition, according to some respondents, "Chinese cars" have the optimal combination of price and quality.
