The Chelyabinsk plant "Modern Forge Technologies" ("SCT", part of the KONAR group) has launched the production of large-sized forgings. Forgings (an intermediate metal blank) up to 12 meters long and weighing up to 15 tons are manufactured here, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reported.
Previously, the maximum product length was 8 meters. The produced forgings are used for the production of mining, lifting, pressing, petrochemical, compressor and power equipment.
350 million rubles were invested in the new production line, of which 211 million rubles were provided by the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) in the form of a concessional loan. As a result, the total output capacity increased by 45%, to 7.8 thousand tons per year.
Forgings are used to make products that are designed to operate under high pressure, impact loads, at temperatures from -70 °C to +650 °C) and in chemically aggressive environments.
