Т-Банк опроверг новости о проблемах с картами Visa и Mastercard

Information that some terminals will stop accepting cards from January 1 is not true

T-Bank has denied reports that some ATMs may stop accepting Visa and Mastercard cards from January 1, 2025. The credit institution's terminals are operating smoothly and have been updated in a timely manner.

In case of difficulties with operations in terminals of other networks that have not been updated, we recommend using Mir payment system cards for payment.

Earlier it became known that T-Bank allegedly notified its customers about possible difficulties with the use of Visa and Mastercard cards. The reason, as reported, was the departure of international payment systems from Russia.

In March 2022, Visa and Mastercard payment systems announced a temporary suspension of their activities in Russia. Cards issued by these systems stopped working abroad, but within the country they can still be used for payment.

Earlier, T-Bank announced the appearance of an alternative to the popular Apple Pay service. In the near future, iPhone owners will be able to use the new service for contactless payments. Currently, T-Pay has more users and turnover than MirPay. In addition, the company has attracted customers who previously used Samsung Pay.
