The Meteor hydrofoil won the vote for the symbol of the new 1,000-ruble banknote. Its results were announced by the Central Bank.
The new banknote is planned to be presented at the end of 2025. Artists of the Central Bank and Goznak will determine the symbols and their location.
The following participated in the voting:
- Meteor hydrofoil;
- Palace of Farmers in Kazan;
- Saratov Automobile Bridge;
- Monument to Salavat Yulaev;
- Main building of Kazan University.
The head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, announced the results on the air of Channel One. It was possible to vote for one of the attractions of the Volga Federal District. A total of 25 options were proposed. About 700 thousand people participated in the voting.
The preferences of citizens coincided with the opinion of experts. Now the artists have to create the design of the banknote. This is a special art. Symbols must be combined with security features
The front side of the banknote was presented in 2023. It depicts the sights of Nizhny Novgorod: the Kremlin, the fair, the Bor bridges, the stadium and the confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers.
Earlier it became known that new banknotes with a face value of 10, 50 and 500 rubles will appear before 2028. The regulator planned to issue them before 2025, but changed its mind.
Let us remind you that the "Meteor 120R" is a hydrofoil boat. These vessels have a displacement of 67 tons and can carry 120 passengers, and the crew consists of 6 people. The length of the ship is 35.8 meters, the width is 9.2 meters, and the cruising range reaches 600 km with a maximum speed of up to 65 km/h.
