Unlike the standard 2S19 modification and the 2S19M1 version, the latest 2S19M self-propelled artillery unit received a more advanced 2A64M2 gun with a 20% increase in rate of fire - from 7-8 to 10 rounds/min.
The machine's software has been loaded with a "fire raid" mode, integration into the fire control system of a computerized terminal for distributing targets between howitzers in a platoon/battery - according to data from the command and staff vehicle of the senior battery officer.
The presence of terminals significantly reduces the deployment time of the updated "Msta-S" at a firing position and preparation for firing. In combination with a high rate of fire, this allows the crew to minimize the likelihood of being hit by enemy fire during a counter-battery duel.
When using the Krasnopol-D guided weapon, the range of fire can reach up to 43 km, and standard Krasnopol shells - up to 20 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the shipborne MLRS A-22 "Ogon" was combined with the "Motolyga" on the front line.
