The penetration rate of high-speed Internet in Russia has reached 93%, said the Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy.
He noted that it is planned to provide 97% of households with high-speed Internet by 2030, and 99% by 2036. According to Shadayev, this is an ambitious goal, but the country is currently moving in the right direction. Over the past four years, a level of 93% has been achieved.
Shadayev also emphasized that trunk optical communication lines are being actively built in Russia, and more than 100 thousand budgetary institutions have already been connected. The Internet infrastructure is being actively developed in small settlements, which improves access to high-speed Internet throughout the country.
