Dark Eagle with LRHW AUR Ballistic Missile: How Russia Can Defend Against the New Threat

S-300V4, S-400, and S-500 SAM systems can handle altitudes up to 50 km

It has become known about a new stage in the testing of the Dark Eagle medium-range missile system with the launch of a two-stage LRHW AUR medium-range ballistic missile with a 17-Mach C-HGB hypersonic glide vehicle. This is evidenced by the TEL towed launcher deployed at Cape Canaveral.

In the next one to two years, the complex is planned to achieve operational readiness and deployment in the MRBM positioning area in Germany in order to parry the potential of the "Oreshnik" hypersonic complex.

The speed of the C-HGB hypersonic unit at altitudes of less than 50 km is 3000-3700 m/s, which provides the possibility of counteraction by means of the S-300V4, S-400 and S-500 SAM systems.

However, at altitudes above 80 km, only 53T6M anti-missiles of the A-235 system are capable of countering the C-HGB.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia built the Tushil missile frigate for India with "Kalibr", "Onyx" and BrahMos.
