NPP "StelsPromMash" (part of the "Stels" group of companies) has modernized its production in Perm and quadrupled the output of its high-tech ball valves. Ball valves are necessary to shut off the flow in an oil or gas pipeline, and they are mainly used at oil and gas production facilities in the Far North, as well as at oil and gas refineries in Siberia and the Arctic.
The company estimates the annual demand of Russian oil and gas industry enterprises at 17.5 thousand ball valves for harsh operating conditions with "metal-to-metal" sealing with diameters from 25 mm to 500 mm. However, according to NPP "StelsPromMash", about 60% of the Russian market for such products was occupied by foreign products, mainly from Italy and China. After reaching its design capacity, the company plans to occupy up to 10% in this market segment, pushing back imported ball valves.
The company has increased the production of high-tech products in a wide range of diameters — from 50 to 400 mm, and also launched serial production of ball valves with a diameter of 25 mm and 500 mm. It is noted that these products are distinguished by the "metal-to-metal" sealing design, which ensures increased durability of products and resistance to high temperatures. At the same time, after the launch of ball valve plug production at the plant, the level of product localization will increase from 70% to 90%.
Investments in the development of production amounted to 230 million rubles, most of which— 105 million rubles — were provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund in the form of concessional loans under joint federal-regional programs. Another 45 million rubles were added by the Regional Industrial Development Fund of the Perm Territory.
