Specialists of "Nevsky PKB" (part of USC) are developing a project for a new large landing ship (LST) "Cayman", which is designed for landing troops, transporting combat, cargo equipment and machinery. This was reported by the corporation's press service.
The project has been modernized taking into account the experience of real combat operations. Thus, the project provides for: a system for detecting and jamming drones, air and sea; circular protection of the ship with AK-630 guns and large-caliber machine guns; fire control is carried out in an integrated manner or from local posts.
The corporation noted that "Cayman" is a combat vehicle for a wide range of applications. The ship will be of interest to customers who have various requirements for the ship's draft, load capacity, and type of equipment.
