The Strela Research and Production Enterprise (part of the Kronshtadt company) has begun serial production of the Termit MDP-01 helicopter-type UAV, which is equipped with air-to-surface S-8L aviation missiles. The Termit carries three S-8L unguided air-to-surface missiles with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead and a solid-propellant engine.
The range of the S-8L unguided aircraft rocket is 6 km, which is 2.5 times greater than the conventional S-8 unguided aircraft rockets used by the Russian Aerospace Forces from combat helicopters such as the Ka-52 Alligator or multi-purpose Su-27 fighters.
MDP-01 is an analogue of the civilian version of the SmartHELI-350, which is also produced by the Kronshtadt company for monitoring the terrain and transporting cargo weighing up to 350 kg, with a ceiling height from 50 m to 3 km and a fuel reserve of 110 liters. The length of the helicopter-type drone is 5 m, the height is 2.3 m.
The Termit drone develops a maximum speed of up to 150 km/h with an airtime of up to 6 hours, a maximum flight range of 900 km in one direction, and a combat radius of approximately 300 km. The S-8L rocket with semi-active laser guidance and increased range due to a new solid-propellant engine is made according to the configuration and aerodynamic design of earlier modifications of the S-8 unguided aircraft rocket, but due to its laser guidance, it is more reminiscent of the 9M120-1 Ataka-V ATGM.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that some T-90M Proryv tanks have lost the key UUI-1 device for full-fledged combat.
