Strikes terror into the enemy: expert explained the uniqueness of the rarest M-46 weapon

Surpasses self-propelled guns "Malva" and "Msta-S"

The rarest long-range 130-mm M-46 gun continues to strike terror into the enemy on the front line. This is a towed gun of corps artillery, developed in the period from 1946 to 1950.

Despite a weight of 8450 kg, the gun has a barrel channel length of 55 calibers, which provides a range of the standard high-explosive fragmentation projectile 53-OF-482M of about 27490 m. This is 11% higher than the ballistics of the 2A64 guns used in the promising 2S43 "Malva" self-propelled gun and the "Msta-S/SM2" self-propelled gun (range of HEF projectile ZOF45 and ZOF64 - 24700 m).

Either the arrival of promising Krasnopol-D guided missiles (43-47 km) in the Hyacinth-B/S ammunition load, or the start of deployment of 152-mm 2A88 guns with a length of 52 calibers from the Coalition-SV self-propelled gun on the BAZ-6910-027 chassis, can achieve and surpass the potential of the 78-year-old M-46 gun.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the RBU-6000 naval rocket launcher changed its profile and began to help the infantry.
