Russian ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns have undergone a major modernization, now they have the ability to hit ground targets and unmanned aerial vehicles at any time of the day thanks to the thermal imager.
The work was carried out by designers of the Moscow branch of the Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant with the active assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. An experimental sample was sent for testing to the Russian Special Forces Institute named after V. V. Putin in Chechnya.
Chief Designer Sergei Sevastyanov explained that all-day use is provided by the installed optoelectronic unit, which has a thermal imager and a television camera. Tests have shown that the specified characteristics are perfectly performed and meet the requirements of modern combat.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian Armed Forces fighters modified the captured American BMP Bradley.
