The corvettes "Gromkiy", "Rezky", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" (Project 20380) of the Pacific Fleet conducted air defense exercises in the South China Sea, the press service of the USC reported.

According to the corporation's press service, combat post crews detected and identified approaching targets, and air defense crews destroyed a mock enemy.

About Project 20380

The multipurpose ships of Project 20380 and their modification (Project 20385) were developed by the Almaz Design Bureau. The corvettes are being built at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg and at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. They are designed to detect and destroy enemy submarines and surface ships, and to land troops.

The Russian Navy includes 10 ships: "Steregushchiy", "Soobrazitelny", "Boyky", "Stoyky" (Baltic Fleet), "Sovershenny", "Gromkiy", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov", "Gremyashchiy", "Rezky" (Pacific Fleet), "Mercury" (Black Sea Fleet).
