State Traffic Inspectorate to conduct mass alcohol checks of drivers in several Russian regions

Mass driver checks will take place in several regions of Russia this weekend

On Saturday and Sunday, the State Traffic Inspectorate in several regions will conduct mass and continuous checks of drivers, focusing on finding drunk road users. The regional traffic police departments announced the upcoming raids.

The raids will take place in various regions of Russia, including the Samara, Lipetsk regions, the Altai Territory, the Republic of Mordovia, the Penza region, Sevastopol, the Ulyanovsk, Ryazan and Smolensk regions, as well as in other places.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that driving under the influence is one of the most serious violations of traffic rules. The consequences of accidents caused by drunk drivers are usually the most severe, both for the offenders themselves and for other road users. Driving under the influence carries a fine of 30 thousand rubles and deprivation of rights for a period of one and a half to two years.

Also, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunk driving and to promptly report to the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road or drive under the influence.
