This version of the self-propelled gun features an improved armor kit. It protects the crew from small arms fire, shell fragments, and some types of anti-tank ammunition.

The 2S25M Sprut-SDM1 retains the 125mm smoothbore gun, which is also installed on T-72 and T-90 tanks. The gun is capable of hitting various targets, including armored vehicles.

The self-propelled gun is equipped with an automated fire control system, which provides increased accuracy and speed of engagement. An advantage of the 2S25M Sprut-SDM1 is its ability to cross water obstacles. The combat vehicle can reach speeds of up to 7 km/h on water using a water jet propulsion system.

The developers have increased the survivability and versatility of their light armored vehicles, which meets the needs of both the Russian Armed Forces and potential buyers from other countries.
