Patriot and NASAMS left without eyes: Russian Lancet hits 36D6 radar, which issued targeting for the American SAM

It tracked fighters and tactical missiles

The Russian Lancet kamikaze drone destroyed the 36D6 combat mode surveillance radar complex at the front. This system was used to detect domestic Su-34NVO fighters before entering the launch lines of FAB aerial bombs, followed by targeting for batteries of American Patriot PAC-2 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The 36D6 radar was also used to detect low-observable tactical cruise missiles Kh-59MK2 and Kh-69, as well as to further inform the calculations of NASAMS SAMs, hybrid FrankenSAMs based on SOU 9A310M1 and SAM RIM-7M, as well as Crotale-NG, covering strategically important logistics hubs.

The detection range of tactical / anti-ship missiles Kh-35U at an echelon of 70 - 100 m for this radar is up to 45 km, missiles Kh-69 at an echelon of 25 - 35 - no more than 30 km.

Characteristics of the Lancet kamikaze drone:

  • Maximum take-off weight - 12 kg
  • Body - polymer composite materials
  • Ammunition - high-explosive fragmentation, cumulative high-explosive, thermobaric
  • Maximum ammunition weight - up to 5 kg
  • Maximum flight range - up to 70 km
  • Engine - electric
