«Вялое производство»: китайский истребитель J-35 потеснил на рынке российский Су-57

Bulgarian Military: Su-57 is Cheaper Than Its Chinese Competitor

Russia presented the Su-57 fighter at the Airshow China 2024 international air show in Zhuhai. However, the Russian aircraft was overshadowed by the Chinese novelty Shenyang J-35, writes Bulgarian Military.

"Rostec" and "Rosoboronexport" are discussing the prospects of the Su-57 in the international market, but the J-35 has many more potential buyers.

As Bulgarian Military writes, China has huge production capabilities. With this in mind, the J-35 could take the place of the Su-57.

The production of the Su-57 in Russia is sluggish. According to current estimates, the production rate is between 15 and 20 units per year. It is constrained by financial and technological problems.

Journalists of the publication claim that the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yu. A. Gagarin, where the Su-57 is produced, needs significant investments to increase production.

At the same time, as Bulgarian Military notes, an important factor for the purchase of a Russian fighter is its price. The cost of the Su-57 is about 40-45 million dollars, and the J-35 is up to 80 million dollars per unit.

About Su-57

The first flight of the Su-57 took place in 2010. Serial production of the aircraft began in 2022. It is in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces.
